Why this matters
The speaking exam is the part most GCSE students fear the most โ and it's the one where intensive, focused practice makes the biggest difference. These sessions are designed to take the stress out of speaking French and replace it with real confidence.
What we work on
- Role-play tasks โ practising the unpredictable element of the exam
- Photo card discussions โ describing images, giving opinions, expressing future plans
- General conversation โ preparing strong, varied responses across all GCSE topics
- Pronunciation drills โ refining accent, intonation, and clarity
- Spontaneous speech โ practising how to respond to unexpected questions naturally
- High-grade vocabulary โ connectives, complex tenses, idiomatic expressions
From hesitation to confidence
Many students start these sessions worried about getting tongue-tied. By the end, they're holding real conversations in French, recovering from mistakes naturally, and walking into their oral exam knowing exactly what to expect.
Format
Each session is 90 minutes of focused speaking practice โ long enough to cover multiple exam-style scenarios with detailed feedback after each one. Sessions are recorded on request so students can review their own speech and track improvement.
Lessons take place fully online via Zoom or Google Meet, with materials and feedback shared digitally.
Who it's for
- Students preparing for their GCSE French speaking exam
- Anyone whose written French is stronger than their spoken French
- Learners aiming for top grades who want polished, fluent speaking responses
- Students who get nervous and need a calm, supportive space to practise
